Fund the city of the future
Sponsor Brazil's first pop-up city - Ipê Village Floripa
In January 2023 Vitalik Buterin launched Zuzalu, the world’s first pop-up city, aiming to experiment in practice the concept of a Network State. He gathered over 200 entrepreneurs and scientists to prototype solutions for governance and health during 2-months in Montenegro.
The project was a massive success and led to other similar initiatives, such as Vitalia City in Honduras (gathering +500 enthusiasts), Edge Esmeralda in California (reaching +1000 visitors), and Aleph in Argentina (+2000 people).
The first episode of my docuseries The Network Society was recorded during Vitalia City last year, featuring prominent names such as Balaji Srinivasan, Patri Friedman, Naval Ravikant, Aubrey de Grey, and many more.
The subject has also been featured on Brazil’s biggest TV channel (streaming), Globo Play, in a complete season of the Expresso Futuro Documentary Series led by Ronaldo Lemos with millions of views.
Now Ipê City is organizing Brazil’s first pop-up city which will take place in Florianópolis from April 22nd and May 22nd. You can read the announcement in the article below.
We’ll bring 150 builders together for one month to prototype a new city and its governance platform for the Internet era, using AI, blockchains, and other digital technologies.
Our goal is to build and showcase tech solutions to address longstanding issues, such as chronic poverty, corruption, bureaucracy, broken healthcare, and obsolete educational systems.
In the last two years, we’ve been working towards this goal:
We organized Brazil’s first Startup Society Conference in 2023 (+100 attendees);
Produced the World’s first documentary about startup societies and network states, which reached +60k views in less than two months; Ipê Village will become an episode of the series.
Collaborated for 2 months in person with Balaji Srinivasan in Singapore to the organization of the Network School pop-up city.
Last month, we opened pre-registration for Ipê Village and have received +160 submissions so far, which is an amazing signal of demand for new ideas in the Brazilian political scene. We aim to select around 100-200 builders and open the venue to +1000 visitors between April 22 and May 22.

Become an Ipê Angel
To make Ipê Village Floripa more impactful, we are seeking partners, which we call City Angels, to sponsor the experiment.
The goal is to use the resources to cover the organization's costs and offer grants to Ipê Architects (who are the 3-week residents building prototypes and solutions for the city).
These grants will reward creators’ solutions for Health, Education, Finance, and Governance, which could be technology (apps, open-source software, hardware, etc) and/or media (videos and art).
There are mostly 4 layers to back Ipê Village
Participant Angel: support the movement and be featured along with other Participant Angels on the website and digital materials;
Backer Angel: support the movement and help back the entrepreneurs building solutions with grants. Be featured along with other Backer Angels on the website and printed materials.
Track Angel: back entrepreneurs with grants and be featured under the Title of one of the tracks (Health, Governance, Education, Finance). For example Ipê Health Track - powered by Brand. Have a high brand exposure during the conference, meetups, and other ipê-led side events, featured on the website and printed materials.
Official City Angel: back entrepreneurs with grants and be featured under the Title of the event: Ipê Village Floripa - powered by Brand. Have a high brand exposure during the conference, meetups, and other ipê-led side events, featured on the website and printed materials.
Your contribution will directly influence the development of technologies aimed at solving real-world challenges in an emerging country. It will also help foster a more pro-tech and pro-freedom culture in Brazil, aligning with the current sentiment in the United States and Argentina.
